CAFE ENTREP Rules and Regulations

Failure to comply with these standards may result to sanctions and deductions from work hours.

Guidelines and Policies
  1. Appearance and Hygiene Standards

     All student workers are required to wear proper and complete uniform and grooming standards established by Café Entrep. We take pride and great care in our personal appearance. It is important that we project a polished, well-groomed and professional image in your overall appearance.

 

        The following policies apply to all student workers and officers.

  • All workers are expected to be on their complete and proper uniform during shifts.

  • All workers are required to wear hair net/skull cap during food preparation and line service. Table servers must have their hair neatly pulled back into a bun with hair net bun; No bangs allowed during work. No bright colored theme hair. 

  • All workers are required keep fingernails clean and well-trimmed.  Using all kinds, types and shades of nail polish is prohibited.

  • For hygienic purposes, all workers are expected to wash their hands with soap and water before starting or returning to work after using the toilet, coughing, sneezing, blowing your nose, touching your face or running your fingers through your hair, etc.

  • Before and during work, all workers must remove all jewelry including necklace, bracelets, rings and piercings. All kinds of piercings are prohibited during work. However, a simple earring and wrist watch are allowed for table servers.

  • Strong perfume or body odor, heavy makeup is not allowed in food production and serving areas. However, we encourage servers and greeters on duty to wear very light and simple makeup.

  • Tattoos in any part of the body must not visible during service.

2. Work Hours and Attendance

Required Work Hours

  • 4th year Track in Culinary – 200 hours

  • 3rd year Track in Culinary – 150 hours

  • 2rd year Track in Culinary – 100 hours

Scheduling

     Students are required to submit their registration forms after enrollment to the HR officer which will be the guide in plotting work shift schedules. There will also be instances wherein students can be walk in workers if other position in the cafe is vacant during the student’s free hour as long as they will inform the officer present during their shift. 

     In case you are not available on the shift given, immediately inform the HR manager before 8:00 AM of Sunday to avoid sanctions.

Breaks

     Workers are allowed to take fifteen-minute break during a straight three-hour workday. Taking an unauthorized break or leaving the job or your station or work area or being in an area other than your assigned work area without permission from the officer-in-charge is not allowed.

Attendance and Punctuality

     Punctuality and regular attendance are expected of all workers. Failure to attend work shift has a corresponding sanction. 

Sign in and Sign Out

  • Sign in and sign out must be done at the cashier area where all bin cards are surrendered in order to avoid forging of signatures of the officers.

  • Name, 1x1 picture, year and course, work position, work schedule, time in and time out must be written in the bin cards submitted by each worker ever semester.

  • Falsifying or altering bin cards or work schedules, sign in/out of another worker or asking another employee to sign in/out for you is strictly prohibited.

  • At the end of each shift, workers should approach the officers-in-charge to sign their bin cards for validation.

Absences and Tardiness

  • If you will be absent for any reason or plan to arrive late or leave early, you must notify the HR manager beforehand and look for another worker for your replacement.

  • Workers who have classes after their scheduled work are allowed to leave 10 minutes early.

  • In the event of an emergency, you must notify the HR manager as soon as possible then submit a medical certificate or an excuse letter addressed to the HR manager. If excuse letter is proved valid, sanctions will not be given.

3. ​ Behavior Expectations and Policies

     All Café Entrep workers are expected to be respectful and friendly to customers, officers and fellow workers, regardless of the situation. Always welcome and acknowledge customers in a friendly manner. Proper grammar and polite language is a must. Speak clearly and calmly when addressing the customers.

Other Guidelines and Reminders
  • Using of cell phones and other gadgets during work hours is not allowed. Always remember to surrender your phone to the officer-in-charge after signing in.

  • Workers are required to place all their bags inside the provided locker. However, you may have to share the locker with one or more workers. No personal belongings should be stored in the kitchen or dining area.

  • Workers should use the kitchen door as their entrance and exit. Workers on duty are not allowed to enter and exit the front door.

  • Have an active interest in your job. Always give your job your best effort.

  • Be pleasant and polite at all times. Cooperate in a friendly way with the other workers.

  • Use your initiative, make improvement suggestions and work quietly and skillfully.

  • Visiting, chatting with friends or other non-workers during shift is not allowed.

  • Chewing gum, eating and drinking during shift is not allowed. You may do this during break times.

  • Always Smile.

Cafe Entrep Property

     All students working in Café Entrep is responsible for safekeeping all equipment, tools and uniforms furnished for them to perform their job. The students must follow the following guidelines accordingly:

  • Only the General Manager, Restaurant Manager and Purchasing Manager must have the Café Entrep’s master keys. Getting and duplicating these keys may result to major sanctions.

  • Damage or loss of any equipment under Café Entrep’s property should be reported to officers immediately. The student responsible of the damage or loss of any equipment must replace it.

  • Assets of Cafe Entrep should only be used for business operations. Using any equipment or tool from Cafe Entrep for personal use without officer's permission is not allowed.

  • Any item borrowed or used outside Café Entrep must be written in the logbook by the worker-in-charge. All items borrowed must be returned within the same day before closing time.
